Article marketing has a lot of search engine optimization benefits, or bonuses, as I like to say. Search engines are always looking for good and fresh content to display to their customers. When you search for something in Google, the first page results are primarily articles, blog posts, or something in written form. Very rarely are videos shown on page 1.
As you submit your articles to article directories, Google will index the articles. Based on the keywords you use in your title and the keywords you sprinkle throughout your article, your content may rank in the first page of Google giving you organic search results. This will give you additional traffic to your site, which is a great thing.
On a deeper level, your content will get more favorable search engine results as you get more content published online… as long as your content helps people. Google takes notice of how much content you have AND how interactive or engaging your content is. The more interactive and engaging your content is, the more Google believes your information will help their customers… which is the primary purpose of Google.
Google wants to give their customers the best results possible to solve their customer’s problems, period! Let me make this perfectly clear about search engine optimization… this is ONLY a benefit and not a strategy to focus on.
Here’s the reason…
If your only focus is to rank on the first page of Google, you’ll spend your entire life keeping up with the constant changes Google makes. You could be getting great traffic one day, but lose it all the next day if Google makes a change… and this has happened many times. Google changes their algorithm daily to keep up with the people who do nothing but find loopholes to exploit the algorithm.
You don’t want to build a business that isn’t stable on a solid foundation. You want to build a business for the long haul. Remember this… article marketing is a long-term strategy that when done right, it’ll produce sustainable and viable traffic for a long, long time.
